The VPK class works in small groups with emphasis on providing a balanced curriculum along with readiness skills for kindergarten. VPK students love having friends and much emphasis is put into planning activities that stress social skills as well as readiness skills involving some writing, reading, and reasoning skills to encourage students to use their own thinking skills to solve problems.
The VPK program has a multi-sensory integrated curriculum that is age appropriate to meet the developmental needs of all children. Learning centers incorporate the use of manipulatives and enriching experiences to reinforce the skills and content taught though each unit/theme. VPK exposes them to the mechanics of the alphabet, Zaner Bloser handwriting method, identifying numbers 1-20, and reading readiness skills for kindergarten.
